11/20/05:
It's
been nearly half a year since we last spoke. We're sorry. But if you're
reading this, thanks for sticking it out. So, to recap, in the last
6 months we've; released our album, gone on tour with A Cricket In
Times Square, played gaggles of shows in PDX, opened for Hella, signed
an endoresment deal with Tab soda and expanded our ranks to include
Mathew Spencer on noise duty. We're looking forward to recording our
next release this December and playing tons of shows while everyone's
in town for winter holiday. In the next few weeks we're going to retire
this website and bring out a less unwieldy design. So, as always,
check back often cause we're going Under Construction.
06/07/05:
Greetings,
people. Things are starting to pick up speed here in Vancouver; our
album will be printed by the end of the month, at which time we will
embark on our first tour. Dates for this "tour" can be found
on our shows page or on our
myspace.
Check back often for developments, though our myspace may be more
up to date. By the way, Patrick won the holiday picture contest some
months ago and is owed one t-shirt.
05/19/05:
Hello
friends, it's been a busy spring. We are in the final phase of mixing
our album now and are few days away from getting it mastered. We will
actually have something to sell while on tour(!) Yes, we will be going
on tour this summer with A
Cricket In Times Square from Seattle. We'll be stopping in all
the vital places; Seattle, Olympia, PDX, Pendleton,
and San Francisco. If your town is vital but wasn't listed we'd be
happy to play, given the chance. We'll be hitting the road in our
new expanded 5-person format featuring our good friend Zach Lapidus
playing all things keyboarded. Soon we will update the bio page to
reflect the new lineup, and for that matter, write a new bio. New
recordings are posted on the mp3 page and 4 tracks are available to
hear on our Myspace
page.
02/09/05:
It's
been a while since we've updated, but we've been busy. Firstly and
most urgently, The Tasteful Nudes will be playing show with Noise
From the Sky in Olympia this Saturday the 12th. It will be at the
prestigious ABC House. Please come if you're in the area as it will
be a most joyous time. Secondly, our friends Noise From the Sky have
just finished mixing the songs for their first album. That means that
we'll be soon to follow suit and have our own album done super quick.
Check back soon for vital developments.
12/26/04:
Ho
Ho Hot pictures of us recording and sitting updated.
Also, video clips. Check
out our special
holiday
season contest:
whomever can come up with the best dialogue for this picture wins
a free t-shirt! You can't afford not to click on it!
12/21/04:
On
saturday night we performed at our friend Matthew Spencer's new residence
with great success. There are pictures
from the show up and soon a few songs. We are in the midst of recording
right now towards our first actual album, but in the fray of excitement
and frustration we didn't forget what time of year it is. Download
our special new holiday thing "Up
On the Housetop" by Howard Hughes and the Hunter/Gatherers
(us - Ross +Zach). More updates, including pictures and videos, to
come very soon. Let's hear it for wind chills!
12/13/04:
An update's long overdue...firstly: the show at Nocturnal went
splendedly; people had a good time and played good music and the youth
collective came away with cash money. Thanks again to Junior Private
Detective for coming out and playing a thrashing set. Not only did
the show go well, but it looks as if we have another date
scheduled already, more on that later. During winter break we will
try to assemble an album out of gum and twigs. Also, we will start
a mailing list so, if anyone wants to subscribe, just email
us and say so.
11/25/04:
Happy day not to be spent in school or work! This is a reminder:
we are playing a concert next week on Friday the 3rd at the Nocturnal
with The
Velocipedes, Noise
From the Sky, and Junior
Private Detective. This is a benefit for the KBOO
Youth Collective so if ever a time to shell out for a show there
was, this is it. Decide now to go then, there is no other choice.
Also - we now have a Myspace
account.
10/31/04:
Seasons greetings! The show lastnight was certainly the most exhausting
activity of October for any of us. We played til there was no play
left. One highlight of the show was when a dude named Silver got on
the mic and mc'd the hell out of it. We followed suit and things came
together like cotton candy. We really hope he's able to come down
for the Dec 3rd show. Update
to the picture section and a small video
clip from the show!
10/30/04:
Tonight we will be playing in Olympia at a place called "Julie
and Ashley's House". I believe it is, in fact, a house. Even
though it's the 30th, it will be a Halloween kinda thing, and costumes
are so completely mandatory. Craziness will ensue and you won't regret
it. T-shirts and lemon bars will be available.
10/25/04:
Last week's show in Olympia was a sweaty, panting success by all
accounts. If anyone who was there reads this: thank you for making
it such a feverishly explosive time. We can only hope to match the
energy of last weekend this weekend. We will be playing another
house shindig this Saturday, the 30th. More info on the whereabouts
later. But this show will feature costume(s) and a few other bands..The
Velocipedes and Noise From the Sky. T-Shirts are also now getting
made, there are 4 varieties so far. An update in the buy corner is
soon to come.
10/15/04:
Emergency short notice announcement: we will be playing a show
in Olympia, home of beer, Saturday night. All things will converge
on J dorm on the campus of Evergreen to create a pile of all things.
Please come and please enjoy yourself. Also, ballots
are being mailed out today. I've voted already, so should you. Thank
You.
10/7/04:
The first band who isn't related to or is us that wants to play
the Dec. 3rd KBOO Benefit show is officially Junior
Private Detective, who have a new album out now! Portland!
- this show is a necessary rocking event, without the musics being
put forth therein, less rocks will be left to our spawn upon community
radio. Please; do give towards community rocks, and be rocked by the
radio community. Seriously, this show will unmess your hair, knock
off your messenger bag and spill your PBR. Don't miss it, at the expense
of rocking community.
10/6/04:
Important Concert Update, Disregard All Else! Our bosom buddy
Mitchell
Frister is organizing
the next KBOO
Benefit concert. It will happen on December 3rd at the Nocturnal
and we will perform, as well as the Velocipedes
and Noise From the Sky.
More info later.
10/2/04:
So, t-shirts, of different colors and sizes, will soon be available
and the merch section will boast all the variations. If you've been
wanting to buying something but have held off, now is the time to
purchase!
9/26/04:
So hey, our good friends and concentric bandfellows The
Velocipedes have a wonderful new website up and running, designed
and manufactured by multi-talented wonder lady Amber
Loranger. Go
there now and later.
9/26/04:
So, this weekend Loren and Robert departed to continue their education
up north while Ross and I remain in the Portland area to entertain
you. We're going to try and take Loren and Robert's departure as a
chance to spread out and play more shows rather than a hindrance.
We have a system of cans and wires to communicate greasy musical ideas
across county lines and you should not be scared of our optimism.
We are still, if not moreso, in the market to play shows and display
music guitar notes so give a shout! We're gonna thrive.
9/8/04:
Some new pictures added in the promo section, and hidden package
lying in wait on this page.
9/6/04:
New pictures from the Ozone Records show posted and new links
page put in.
9/3/04:
Alert! Tonight, whilst celebrating a good performance, Thor, Robert
and myself were notified that Ross had been in a work-related accident
and was being rushed to the emergency room. We don't know how serious
it is, but we all have our respective fingers crossed that Ross makes
a quick and hesitant recovery.
9/3/04:
Just case you don't know and you didn't know you wanted to know, we're
playing an in-store show at the Ozone Records at E. Burnside and 7th
at 4 PM today. Juice and lemon bars will be served. It's free and
we can only speculate as to how fun of a time it will be. Come on
down and check it out.
9/2/04:
Hello for the very first time! We've finally gotten around to making
a website for the band, our band, The Tasteful Nudes band. Thanks
for coming, please have a look around and check for lice. If you'd
like to contact us you may write to either: us as an entity at band@thetastefulnudes.com
